DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY

Head of the Department (HOD) : Dr. Prof. Patricia Trueman is a Post Graduate in Home Science with specialization on Foods and Nutrition. She did her Ph.D. in “Chemical and Nutritional Studies on Buffalo Milk Casein” at Loyola College.  During 1979-83 worked in Protein Research Unit of Loyola College, Chennai as a Junior Research Fellow, in the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR). She has presented several papers in national seminars and published her results outputs in some of the journals and proceedings.

Dean : Dr. C V Vaidyanathan formerly Director Grade Scientist and Advisor (Management), Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC), Chennai.  He is an eminent Scientist Engineer with nearly four decades of experience in R & D, teaching and consultancy in the field of Civil and Structural Engineering.  His areas of expertise include Computer Aided Analysis & Design, Structural Dynamics and Machine Foundations and Seismic Resistant Design and Risk Assessment.

Head of the Department (HOD) : Dr.B.Hemalatha did her  Bachelor of Engineering in Civil from Bharathiar University. She did her Masters with specialization in Environmental Engineering at Bharathiar University.  She is a University Rank Holder both her B.E. & M.E. courses.  She has been awarded Ph.D. by Anna University for thesis entitled “Feasibility studies  on the disposal of industrial waste with organic waste by vermicomposting Technology”.  She has 7 years of teaching experience.  She has published research papers of two International Journals and two national journals and attended more than 10 conference and seminar / workshops.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

Head of the Department : Prof. M.Kumaran is a graduate in Electrical and Communication Engineering and Masters in Computer Science and Engineering. He is a Microsoft Certified professional with Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Computer Trouble shooting. He is a life member of Indian Society for Teaching Education and Member in CSIAL IEEE.

Head of the Department : Mrs.S.Senthamaraiselvi is a post graduate in Computer Applications and doing Ph.D in Mother Teresa women’s University. She has 10 years of experience in teaching field and presented 15 papers in National conferences, published 2 papers in International journal and 2 papers in national journal, attended several conferences, seminars / conferences.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

Head of the Department : Prof.M.Devaraju , B.E., M.Tech., (Ph.D). is Master in Digital Electronics and Advanced Communication. He is doing Ph.D. He has 23 years of teaching experience. Participated several conferences, seminars, workshop and presented papers.

Dean: Dr. K. Annamalai B.E., M.S., Ph.D. is the Dean of the Research & Development Department. He is a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He published more than 15 research papers in International and National levels and attended more than 12 conferences in India and abroad. He has nearly 27 years of research experience in the Indian space Research Organization in the field of design and establishment of Rocket testing installations. He has been working as The Principal of self financing engineering college for 7 years.

DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

Ms. E. Jayashree Professor and Head of the Department completed B.Sc., B.Tech. (MIT, Anna University ) in Electronics Engineering and Masters in Power Electronics ( College of Engineering , Guindy, Anna University ). She is at present doing her Ph.D. (College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University ) in Power Electronics. She has been the Management Representative in the process of implementing ISO 9001-2000 Quality System in Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology for two consecutive terms. She is also looking after augmentation activities. She is a member of eWIT (Empowering Women in IT) powered by Software Technology Parks of India, Chennai. She is a life member of ISTE. She is also a member of IEEE.

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING :

Head of the Department : Prof. L. Subramanian is Masters in Mechanical Engineering (Engineering Design) and also Master of Science (M.S.) from the Birla Institute of Technological Science, Pilani. He is doing Ph.D. He has both industrial and teaching experience and contributed several papers in seminars and conferences.  He has 28 years of teaching experience.

DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES :

Dr. A Viswanathan, M.Sc., M.Phil, Ph.D is the Professor and Dean of the Science and Humanities Department.  He is a Doctorate in Energy Physics, having published more than 20 research papers in International and National levels and attended more than 15 conferences in India and abroad.  He has more than 30 years of teaching experience in different capacities.  He has served as Dean, Science and Humanities Division in several Engineering colleges.  He is heading the Science and Humanities division consisting of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Basic Engineering departments at our institution.

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL

Dean : Prof. R Baktha isa well known academician and renowned HR specialist.  He is a Mechanical Engineer with post graduate qualifications in Management studies and operation research from the University of Aston, UK.  He has about 40 years industrial experience both in India and UK in the area of General Management, HR, Industrial Engineering and Operation Research.  He has worked at senior managerial levels including as Vice President (HR) at KCP Group.  He has several years of experience in the placement department.
