Mr.Gholam Reza Khajeh, Technical Trainer HVAC, Middle East, Building Efficieny, Dubai, UAE delivered the Guest Lecture on " Refrigeration and Air conditioning" on 25th March 2009.

Mr.V.Sridhar of HEXDOF Engineering Services Pvt Ltd., Chennai , delivered a lecture on the "Modern Trends in Simulation using Hypermesh" for the Pre-final Year Mechanical Engineering students on 3rd April 2009.

Mr.R.Parvatham of EDS Technologies., Chennai , delivered a lecture on the "Emerging Opportunities in Product Life cycle Management (PLM)" for the Pre-final Year Mechanical Engineering students on 8th April 2009.

Symposiums

The department of Mechanical Engineering inaugurated and conducted its State Level Technical symposium titled MEXTREME'09 under Mechanical Engineering Association on 24th February 2009. Mr.K.Shivkumar of Global Head Business Management group Engineering and R & D Services , HCL Technology, Chennai , chaired the Chief Guest.Nearly 110 papers were received out of which 20 papers were selected for presentation. Over 168 participants from various Engineering Colleges attended in various programmes like Paper Presentation, CAD Modelling and Simulation, Gliders, Technical Quiz, Adzap and Junkyard.

The department of Mechanical Engineering inaugurated and conducted its National Level Technical symposium titled MEXTREME'10 under Mechanical Engineering Association on 20th September 2010. Mr.M.Gopisankar Asst.General Manager, product Development, Ashok Leyland, Chennai, chaired the Chief Guest. Nearly 120 papers were received out of which 25 papers were selected for presentation. Over 190 participants from various Engineering Colleges attended in various events like Paper Presentation, CAD Simulation, Water Rocketing, Bike Remodeling, Technical Quiz, Adzap and Junkyard.

Conference Conducted

The department of Mechanical Engineering inaugurated and conducted its National Level Conference titled "Preferment in Mechanical Engineering-PIME 2010 under Mechanical Engineering Association on 20th March 2010. Dr.K.L.Sundar of Technical Adviser Daimler AG Germany, chaired the Chief Guest. Nearly 35 papers were received out of which 20 papers were selected for presentation.
