Mr. R Baktha, Dean is looking after this Placement & Training Cell. The Cell is devoted to cater to the needs of the organizations in conducting campus interviews for placement. Interactions with organizations are regularly done for placement requirements. Placement cell also conducts career guidance workshop to the final and pre- final year students to face the challenging future with confidence.

MEGA CAREER GUIDANCE SEMINAR
 

A Mega Career Guidance Programme is being organized every year by our institute at Tidel Park, Taramani, Chennai to motivate our students on career and placement potentials.

The 4th career Guidance Seminar for the III yr. students was conducted on 13-03-10 .The following were the Guest Speakers:

  1. Mr.Ganesh, Vice President, HR – Caterpillar India.
  2. Mr. Krishna Prasad, Global Head Delivery, UST Global.
  3. Mr.Eugene Xavier Papu Antony , General Manager , Hexaware Technologies.
  4. Mr.K.Purushothaman , Regional Director , NASSCOM.

Prof.Baktha, Dean (Placement) explained the objectives of the Seminar and also gave an introduction to the placement activities. Prof.J.Karthikeyan, Vice Chairman delivered Welcome Address and Dr.K.R.Senthil Kumar, Principal proposed the Vote of Thanks. About 800 students along with faculty attended the seminar.
 

IN CAMPUS PLACEMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME

 

A six day residential programme was conducted for 2010 batch students during 6th June to 11th June , 2009. About 250 students participated in the programme from all branches of engineering.

  • Everyday yoga classes were conducted by Asana Andiappan Yoga and Research Centre in early morning.
  • It was followed by Quantitative Aptitude session by SMART / Soft Skills training by MAFOI.
  • In the evening , Guest Lectures were organized as under:
    • 07-06-09 – Mr.Visagan, Head, Placement, Rajalakshmi Engineering College.
    • 08-06-09 – Mr.SarathBabu, MD, Food King.
    • 09-06-09-Ms.Vishnu Priya, Director, NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network).
    • 10-06-09- Mr.Padmakumar – Head HR, Saint Gobain.
    • Ms.Divya & Ms.Vaishali – Chinmaya Mission, Chennai.

The programme ended with a valedictory address by Mrs.Hemalatha Rajan, Director, HR & Finance, MAFOI. She also distributed the certificates to the students.

 

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

 

WIPRO MISSION 10 X programme was conducted for Faculty members by Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology in association with CUIC, Anna University. This was the first programme conducted in Chennai after MOU was signed by CUIC with WIPRO for conducting this programme for all the affiliated colleges of Anna University. 33 Faculty members from Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology, SKR Engineering College, Saveetha Engineering College and Rajalakshmi Engineering College attended the programme at Sastha campus from 17-11-08 to 21-11-08.The programme covers three modules,

  1. Dale Carnegie Training on High Impact Teaching Skills.
  2. Cambridge International Diploma for teachers and trainers.
  3. Mission 10 X learning approach.

Dr.V.C.Ravichandran, Director, CUIC, Anna University, inaugurated the programme and the valedictory address was delivered by Mr.Selvan D, Sr.Vice President, Talent Transformation, Wipro.

The Vice Chancellor of Anna University Dr.Mannar Jawahar visited the campus for an interaction with the participants on 20-11-08.

Besides the above, the following programmes are also being offered by the Management free of cost.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES

  • Mr.Ilango, Managing Director, ACE Consultants addressed the first year students on Motivation and Attitudinal Changes on 20th October, 2009 for about 90 minutes. Around 800 students attended the programme.
  • Anna University in collaboration with BSNL conducted a training programme on Mobile Communication (as part of MOU entered by Anna University with BSNL) from 4th Jan 2010 to 10th Jan 2010. 50 students from CSE, ECE, EEE & MCA attended the programme. Apart from Mobile Communication, Soft Skills training was also given as part of the Training Programme by Dr.Selvam, Director & Mr.Kalai, Deputy Director of CUIC, Anna University.
  • The 48 hour Programme (60 periods) on “Communication Skills” commenced on 15th Feb, 2010 for the I yr Engg. & MCA students and it is being conducted by MAFOI.
  • The following training programmes were conducted from 09-12-09 to 15-12-09 excluding 13-12-09.

APTITUDE TRAINING AND TESTS : Leading Resource persons are periodically conducting Aptitude Training Program for our students.  Quantitative Aptitude books will be supplied to the third year students.
